Uptogether Healthcare founder Joseph Mwiseneza learned the importance of human empathy from a very young age. At seven years old, he fled Congo as a refugee, settling in Rwanda for fifteen years.

Joseph was raised and cared for by the community, whilst being fed and clothed by the UN.

During his formative years, he was often exposed to traumatizing sights, some that most people will thankfully never have to experience in a lifetime.

Joseph saw that by lifting each other through empathy, kindness and support, it’s possible for anyone to reach their potential.

The impact of these exceptional and unenviable experiences became his motivation to give back to humanity. Which after studying nursing and engineering, eventually led Joseph to youth work.

Feeling he was losing his connection to people; Joseph took the bold step to start Uptogether Healthcare, an organization fixated on helping people for all the right reasons. 

Built on the foundations of extraordinary circumstances, Uptogether Healthcare now thrives under the co-directorship of Joseph Mwiseneza and Sharon Storr who continue to grow it with one focus: people.

Sharon is a qualified Youth Worker with 15 years and counting of experience. 

Having hands on experience in the field, along working as a Team Leader in Operations and Compliance. 

Sharon mentor both our internal and external team to educate and empower them all. This is to ensure our participants and stakeholders receives high standard level of care and services.
